World Communion of Reformed Churches

Called to Communion... Committed to Justice...

Who we are
We are a network of Protestant churches in 108 countries. Our member churches are Presbyterian, Congregational, Reformed, Waldensian, United, and Uniting with an estimated combined membership of 80 million people.

What we do
We promote church renewal and unity. We encourage member churches to engage in contemporary mission. We advocate for economic, ecological and gender justice.

Why
We believe that Christian faith engages us in actions which respond to the spiritual needs and economic and social rights of all people in society. This includes ensuring responsible use of natural resources.
Our objective is to foster unity among our member churches and to promote change that will lead to just and sustainable peace.

How
We are committed to collaborating with other church movements on issues of common concern such as climate change, gender justice and theological dialogue. We are supported principally by membership contributions of finances and human resources. We also seek funding for specific projects.

One Billion Rising

ONE in THREE women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime.

ONE BILLION WOMEN violated is an ATROCITY.

ONE BILLION WOMEN (and MEN) dancing is a REVOLUTION.

The World Communion of Reformed Churches is speaking out to end the violence by organizing an event at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, inviting staff members from sister organizations, other tenants, as well as the general public to rise and dance.

Third Word: Justice

Third word: Justice

From the very moment in which churches from the Reformed family agreed to be part of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, we committed to a focus on action for justice. At the same time, we agreed to build an authentic “communion” of diverse expressions of what it means to be faith communities. In making that connection, we demonstrated that there is a basic link between justice and our commitment to work together as a family of Reformed churches wherever we are located.
